A bruised Bachmann loses GOP ad support - TwinCities.com

advertisement

National Republicans have pulled ad buys for U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, but the embattled 6th District congresswoman's re-election campaign doesn't seem worried.

"As much as we would love to have the advertising, we have a strong budget; we have a strong plan; we have strong poll data; and we can win this race without them anyway,'' Bachmann spokeswoman Michelle Marston said Wednesday.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

We can win this election without them anyway.

Them? She's referring to the GOP now as them? Is she starting her own political party now?

This is all as a result of her political suicide on Hardball.

Her statement doesn't seem much like witnessing for stewardship. By golly what might have been a surplus of campaign contributions could have funded additional acts of piety on her part, beyond simply getting herself re-elected to public office. But apparently her kingdom is indeed of this world so to speak.

She has never watched Hardball...LMAO.  Nice prep there Michelle!  I bet you know who Mathews is now, not that it'll save you from getting Tinkle'd on!

He SKEWERED Nancy Pf-whatever last night.

Again the republican trickle down theory doesn't get to the under ticket members.   Rep. Bachmann, you have only yourself to blame.  Chris Matthews didn't set a trap for you, your mouth and lack of brains did.

As Bill Maher said on Hardball when he saw the clip, he just loves watching Chris give dumb people just enough rope to hang themselves.

LOL.  Honestly, look at her when at her facial expression when she is on tv she has a look like the elevator doesn't go all the way up and my God when she opens up her mouth you know that the elevator doesn't go all the way up.

Gosh, you mean wearing your hair like Ann Coulter and trying to talk just like her isn't a ticket to political success in the GOP? Sorry, Michelle, you should have gone for the bleach job too.

She had me fooled for a second, I thought she looked strikingly like Ann Coulter.  And when she was talking, the similarity was almost horrifying.  But it was the MN accent that set her apart.

As a person from Minnesota I will be happy to say fricken good rid-dens to Michele Bachmann. You are a disgrace to the rest of us.

BTW thanks to all those who pushed this story and those who contributed to Tinklenberg's campaign. :)

I think that after this campaign is over we're going to see a major change in the way that candidates approach the media and public appearances. Obama seems to have figured out - with the exception of the comment about bitter folks and their guns - that you don't stray off message unless you are sure there are no recording devices present.

And even then it's a bad idea.

Bachmann learned the other lesson, which is that every race is national now. If you step into the national spotlight and anger enough Americans it doesn't matter if you're running for dog catcher is Wasalia Alaska, your opponent is going to realize the power of a flash-grass(roots) network.

Interestingly, this doesn't appear to work in reverse. While there have been some success stories in nationalizing local and House elections via viral media, none of them seem to have the power that an organic and very stupid comment from a candidate has in mobilizing negative response.

That's what I'm looking forward to...raising the bar, in both the electorate and the elected.

I would love to see Chris permanently on Meet The Press...

He is a master...

When Bachmann was talking he kept feeding her rope until she successfully hog tied herself.
It was amazing to watch...

She could not help herself...
She was so smug and self-righteous it was disgusting and she got exactlywhat she deserved....

I happily count myself as one of the contributor to her opponent.

Best news of the day. I don't want to count my chickens, but the thought of one less creationist-anti-intellectual-america-hating-ultra-conservative in the senate makes me smile
